Leslie Flint (1911–1994) -
Direct Voice Medium 
Born in 1911, Leslie Flint was a gifted physical medium. The recorded voices of the deceased that we heard on tape at most of Brian's open-house events were the products of George Woods and Betty Greene, researchers and psychics in their own right.
They conducted test sittings with Flint at regular intervals, and produced over 500 tapes featuring many different individuals--some famous, some ordinary, but all articulate about life after death.
The process of Spirit communication was created through an ectoplasmic "voice-box" as described in detail in Leslie Flint's autobiography, Voices in the Dark: My Life as a Medium. In his book, Flint proclaimed that "Every living being has a substance known as ectoplasm, which is life force, and a physical medium like myself has a great deal more of it than most people. During a séance, this substance, which is sometimes also referred to as 'the power,' is drawn from the medium and fashioned by Spirits into a replica of the physical vocal organs which is known as the voice-box or sometimes the mask. Direct Voice and Physical Medium—Is a medium who can produce Spirit voices without having to use their own vocal apparatus. It is the Spirit control (and others) who, with the aid of ectoplasm, can build a "voice box" which the sounds come through. Although this sounds fantastical, Leslie Flint proved to many it was a real phenomena.
Physical Medium—A medium who can produce tangible sensory phenomenon which is usually witnessed by sever people at once. This is objective Mediumship. During a demonstration of physical mediumship, the loved one can appear appear or partially appear. This type of Mediumship is not practiced as much as it once was.
Levitation Medium—Is just what it implies. These amazing people levitated with the aid of their Spirit control in front of many reliable witnesses.
Mental Medium—a mental medium who can communicate without having to be in a deep state of trance and usually does not demonstrate any outward phenomena. This type of Mediumship pertains to modern Mediumship practiced today.
Trance Medium—A trance medium will go into either a light to deep trances state and their Spirit control or guide will often speak through them. A trance medium will often, like a physical medium, vacate their body for a while. This takes many years of development to do safely.
Trance Channel—This ability places the change in a light to very deep trance while communicating with the Spirit realm. This is no trance mediumship because usually the communicators are more advanced and higher level beings who are imparting information for the whole of mankind.
