What Are Entity Attachments?
Entity attachments are troublesome energies which find a vulnerable living victim and syphon energy from them as well as attempting to influence the thinking processes. Earthbound spirits and dark energy forces are the two most common types of entities. The spirit is the part of us that survives after death of the physical body. Sometimes spirits just don't know what to do when their physical body dies, so they stay in the earth plane and can attach to living people or remain in a specific place (thus a haunting spirit or ghost). Curses, psychic attacks and negative thought forms, on the other hand, are generated by living people. Spirit attachments can be random or caused by someone the victim knew in life.
*Symptoms of a Possible Negative Spirit Attachment:
- Hearing voices
- Sudden cravings for alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, etc.-- especially after surgery or a traumatic event
- Sudden weight gain--especially after surgery or a traumatic event
- Fears and phobias
- Sudden changes in behavior--such as increased anger, depression and thoughts of suicide
- Serious illness of unknown cause
- Loss of energy
- Memory and concentration problems
- Unexplained physical problems--such as pain from an undetermined cause
- Migraine headaches
- Night terrors and nightmares
- Panic or anxiety attacks
- Multiple personalities
*Please know that the symptoms mentioned above are not always an indicator of a Spirit attachment.
There are two main types of potentially difficult entity attachments.
- The first are negative entities who choose to disturb people because that’s what they like doing and they can “continue” their bad habits and behaviors through them.
- The second are from one’s own interactions and relationships within others and environments. Entity interferences could occur because of association or commonalities.
Some Spirits who were nasty in life or liked the power of bulling others, continue to enjoy making life difficult for those still living. These entities tend to pick on those whom they sense a weakness, insecurity, or an open or a damaged energy field. The latter could have been caused by trauma, emotional shock, drug or alcohol abuse, depression, or excessive negativity.
Interferences Because e of Jealousy
There are instances where a being will interfere with someone because it is jealous of their abilities, qualities, or values or because of successes and achievements. It wanted to have the same or be recognized in life--but wasn’t for any number of reasons. Often these types will work hard to sabotage an individual and put road blocks in their way when normally all might be smooth going.
Troubled Dis-incarnates (The Dead or Deceased)
These are beings that have for whatever reason, have not moved on after death. Interference from these types often occur because of something within a person is what they think they need. For example, a person who is suffering from a recent loss could visit a friend’s house where in the past, someone died from grief caused by a broken heart. This form was so preoccupied with its own suffering that it continues existing in the same environment as a ghost form. The living person is an ideal anchor for the ghost form as it may think its earth counterpart can help it somehow. In an even deeper scenario, if this living person has just broken off a relationship with someone else, they may find themselves the target of this being’s rage, anger ,and or injustice.
Attachments through Past Personal Connections
Commonly an attachment occurs because a person has had some connection with this being in their living past. It may have been a friend, acquaintance, colleague, enemy, or family members. In this case, they may have strong feelings towards this person that is stopping them from letting go. These could be anger, love, hate, injustice, jealousy -- and so on.
Every time we fail to express ourselves properly and hold on to resentments such as sadness, anger, revenge, injustice, jealousy, love, loyalty, care, etc., it’s possible that we can keep these energy connections to the deceased open. There are many cases where the attachment isn’t even dead. These strong negative emotions for many people, are the main origin of entity attachments.
Unfinished Business
It could be that there is some either stated or unstated agreement or unfinished business that maintains an attachment such as:
“I will always look after you...”
“We will work together until this is finished...”
“You broke your promise...”
“I will get you back, you so and so...”
There are obviously many more variations in addition to the above which can cause an attachment to occur.
Spirit Releasement
Spirit Releasement, also known as remote depossession, is the process we use to release entities from living people. The term remote means that the work can be done from a distance. This is possible because we work in the higher consciousness. Releasement can also be done directly with the person wishing the procedure. However, we feel that the remote process removes any possibility of suggestion playing into the process. Remote spirit releasement can be done without the conscious knowledge of the person on whom we are working, but permission is always requested from that person's higher self before the procedure is undertaken.
Who Does the Procedure?
Releasements are done by hypnotherapists who are specially trained in this procedure and who have a working knowledge of metaphysics and parapsychology. We're sometimes called "spiritual warriors doing battle with unseen forces." A Releasement session can sometimes last several hours.
If you feel you or someone you know may be suffering from some kind of negative attachment which is seriously interfering in the life process, take our upcoming class in Entity Attachments.
The Origins of the Jack O' Lantern
People have been making jack o' lanterns at Halloween for centuries. The practice originated from an Irish myth about a man nicknamed "Stingy Jack." According to the story, Stingy Jack invited the Devil to have a drink with him. True to his name, Stingy Jack didn't want to pay for his drink, so he convinced the Devil to turn himself into a coin that Jack could use to buy their drinks. Once the Devil did so, Jack decided to keep the money and put it into his pocket next to a silver cross, which prevented the Devil from changing back into his original form. Jack eventually freed the Devil, under the condition that he would not bother Jack for one year and that, should Jack die, he would not claim his soul. The next year, Jack again tricked the Devil into climbing into a tree to pick a piece of fruit. While he was up in the tree, Jack carved a sign of the cross into the tree's bark so that the Devil could not come down until the Devil promised Jack not to bother him for ten more years.
Soon after, Jack died. As the legend goes, God would not allow such an unsavory figure into heaven. The Devil, upset by the trick Jack had played on him and keeping his word not to claim his soul, would not allow Jack into hell. He sent Jack off into the dark night with only a burning coal to light his way. Jack put the coal into a carved-out turnip and has been roaming the Earth with ever since. The Irish began to refer to this ghostly figure as "Jack of the Lantern," and then, simply "Jack O 'Lantern."
In Ireland and Scotland, people began to make their own versions of Jack's lanterns by carving scary faces into turnips or potatoes and placing them into windows or near doors to frighten away Stingy Jack and other wandering evil spirits. In England, large beets are used. Immigrants from these countries brought the jack o' lantern tradition with them when they came to the United States. They soon found that pumpkins, a fruit native to America, make perfect jack o- 'lanterns.

Is the Alamo Haunted?
As many of you know, I have just driven from Phoenix, Arizona, across country to my new digs in Montgomery, Alabama. The countryside is very different from Phoenix to say the least, but I am thrilled with trees turning color and the wonderful and warm hospitality of those I’ve met so far.
On the way from Phoenix to Alabama, I decided to visit the site of the Alamo in San Antonio Texas. I did not even think about having a paranormal experience, so intent was I on seeing the sight of the famous battle between Mexico and the emerging territory of Texas. What I encountered during the visit was unexpected and somewhat sobering.
A Little Background on the Battle of the Alamo

In 1835, Texas homesteaders (mostly Americans) voted for independence from Mexico forming the Republic of Texas. In the ensuing months, Texas forces captured the city of San Antonio and the mission, Mision San Antonio de Valero, also call the Alamo. When news of this takeover reached Mexico City, the Mexican army mobilized under the command of Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, marched four thousand strong reaching the gates of the Alamo on February 27th, 1836. Upon arrival, Santa Anna demanded immediate surrender. The demand was met with a defiant shot from the walls of the Alamo and the battle commenced.
On the Texan side, the small fighting force under commanding officer, William Barrett Travis, consisted of one hundred and eighty-eight men to Santa Anna’s thousands. Among these were Colonel James Bowie (Jim Bowie), and Davey Crockett.
The valiant defenders fought off assault after assault until just before dawn on March 6th, when the fort was finally overrun by Santa Anna’s forces. The diminished contingent of Texans still continued to do battle. Out of ammunition, they clubbed their guns until they were nearly all decimated. William Travis fell near the western wall with piles of slain bodies around him. Jim Bowie, who had been extremely ill for some days, was butchered in his sick bed. Davey Crockett was captured along with six others but was savagely hacked to death by Santa Anna's officers seeking glory. A tragic ending to a valiant standoff, only a few women, children, and a black slave belonging to Travis were left to tell the gruesome tale. It is only because of these people that any account of the brave contingents final hours and minutes survives at all.
Today the Alamo is beautifully kept and has been repaired more than once. This has not always been the case. The truth is, the Alamo stood empty, desolate, and all but forgotten for some 70 years until in 1903, a group of women fought a battle of their own to keep the Alamo from being torn down and the land used for commercial property. These were the newly formed Daughters of the Republic of Texas or DRT. They were able to purchase the Alamo from the Church of Spain and it ultimately became a famous landmark for our country's history. Some outbuildings were also saved including the northern ramparts from which much of the battle was fought. The main chapel, which is the familiar building we see in pictures and postcards, had no roof at the time. Today the chapel is covered with a domed ceiling.
Carol's Encounter
As I entered through the large doors, I noticed adjoining rooms off to each side of the long rectangular sanctuary. These rooms contain a wax figure of a Dominican priest and oil paintings depicting the battle. The alter area, as in most churches, was straight ahead at the far end. This is where the plaques are displayed with the names of the 188 fallen men. Eagerly I moved towards that end because a family name is on one of the plaques (we don't know if he was a relative or not, but my maiden name is a rare name). Two thirds of the way down, I ran into a wall of emotions which took my breath away. A feeling of dread and great anxiety overtook me. Suddenly, my chest felt so tight I could hardly breathe and I broke out in a sweat. The hair on the back of my neck stood up and I almost felt as though someone was trying to whisper something to me. I paced back and forth through this area and the same feelings came and went as I passed through each time. I asked the Docent about it and he wasn't sure what might have occurred on that exact spot. He did tell me, to the immediate right was the room where the terrified women and children took refuge.
Is this intense spot residual energy from where Jim Bowie, laying helpless in his cot, was slashed to death or was it where Davey Crockett and others were cut down where they stood after surrendering to Santa Anna? Perhaps the energy is from the collective group of women who witnessed a gruesome ending to the battle. Who or what was trying to whisper a message to me? Sadly, we'll never know. What I am sure of, is that the walls of the Alamo do know, and they are keeping their secret.
