The "Brown Lady" of Raynham Hall

"The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall " is probably the most famous ghost photograph known. This picture was taken in 1936 by photographers Captain Provand and Indre Shira while shooting for Country Life magazine as a historic shoot about the estate.

The photo shows what appears to be a female figure descending the main hall staircase. It is said to be the specter of Lady Dorothy Walpole, who once lived at the Hall. She is known as "The Brown Lady due to separate sightings of a spirit seen wearing a brown brocade dress. The official cause of death was listed as smallpox, however, rumor had it, she murdered by her husband for her infidelities.

Comment: This photo has been tested and tested again over the
years since 1936. No trickery or double exposure fraud or otherwise
has been found. Judge for yourself.
