Down the Rabbit Hole into Our 6th Sensesby Carol Nicholson

Alice
In Wonderland wasn't the only one to leap
down a rabbit hole into a strange
new world. The 2004 the sleeper movie hit,
What the Bleep Do We Know, took
us on a mind-bending journey where science
and spirituality came together. For many,
it changed conceptions of reality by delving
into the little understood world of quantum
physics in an informative and entertaining
way. This movie showed us that there exist
many dimensions and universes previously
unknown to us. It showed us that our perception
of reality is far more than what we previously
believed it to be. Along with this, an explosion
of interest in psychic abilities or our
sixth sense has occurred. What many skeptics
thought of as fantasy and imagination, has
demonstrated to be very a real and active
part of our human makeup.
All
people have natural psychic abilities. The
word psychic comes from the Greek word psyche,
meaning mind or consciousness. Recognizing
our intuitive or psychic abilities just
means that we have a sense of direct knowing
without the conscious use of reasoning.
Many have called this natural instinct.
The isolated Aborigines of Australia and
other remote tribes still have this instinctive
ability as a part of their daily existence.
Spending their days, much as ancient man
did, looking for food, shelter, and watching
out for danger, these people rely on this
other sense for sheer survival. Have we
in our busy modern world lost these abilities?
The answer is no. They are just lying dormant
within us waiting to be acknowledged.
Numerous
people will admit to experiencing strange
or unusual paranormal events during their
lifetime. Some hear a voice calling to them
when no one is there. Some report seeing
a departed loved one as if they were solid
and alive. Others have reported an eerie
feeling cautioning them not to take a certain
plane flight only to find it had met an
unfortunate end or a sense to move out of
the way of danger just before it happens.
How many of you have narrowly missed a car
accident because you felt a sudden urge
to turn or change lanes?
Ever
had the experience of a dream, which later
came true or the premonition of a future
event in your life? This sixth sense ability
is called precognition. The following story
is an extraordinary example of precognition
which has to do with the famous sinking
of the Titanic.
Several
published accounts about the sinking were
in print long before the idea of the White
Star Lines leviathan, Titanic, had
ever been conceived. The most famous of
these was the publication of American author
Morgan Robertson's novel, The Wreck
Of The Titan. A retired sea captain,
Robertson claimed he was psychic. In this
novel published in 1898 many years before
the unfortunate Titanic set sail, the book
sited many uncanny similarities such as
the ships name, time of sailing, tonnage,
number of engines and propellers, grossly
insufficient lifeboats, and the number of
lives lost. Even the plot of hitting an
iceberg at night on the starboard (left
side) is the same as the actual disaster.
Coincidence?
Sometimes
a window will open in time in which a certain
event from the past will replay itself.
We call this residual energy or an event
imprinted on time. One of the most amazing
and documented cases of this rare phenomena
occurred in the UK some years ago. A plumber,
Harry Martendale, had been hired to repair
some water pipes in the cellar of the old
Treasurers house in the town of York.
It was a cold February day when alone and
busy at his work, Harry heard what he termed
a musical note. As the sound became louder,
he was
startled at the apparition of a soldier
replete with helmet and plume stepping right
through the wall beside him. After soldier
appeared and disappeared into the wall on
other side of the room, a horse followed
with a rider astride. More soldiers immediately
followed in columns of twos. The man shaken
to his core, later related in vivid detail
his experience to scholars. The description
of attire and the small stature of the men
he saw ultimately corroborated
his story. The average person, even by reading
books, could not have known the intricate
details of the uniform dress of that specific
time period. Hapless Harry had evidently
glimpsed a part of the 9th legion which
was stationed at the then existing roman
fort two thousand years ago!
How
could this ordinary man have witnessed a
scene from two millennia ago? Every day
there are strange and unexplainable events
which happen to ordinary people and where
the seemingly impossible does occur. Events,
our common sense tells us that cant
possible happen, but do happen. Often times
these events are burned into peoples
memories
never to be forgotten. Science
is now learning that some mysterious phenomena
cannot be explained away and the number
of substantial reports and reliable witnesses
are far to common to simply be brushed aside.
Recognizing
that sixth sense abilities are a very natural
part of us can alter our every day reality.
This fresh paradigm has produced a new view
of life much like the film What the
Bleep
and may provide a greater
understanding of paranormal experiences
in the future. And, although you may never
see a roman legion marching through a wall,
allowing your psychic sixth sense to open
is a guarantee that an amazing and fascinating
new world awaits you.
